Sinonasal adenocarcinoma: A population-based analysis of demographic and socioeconomic disparities
Head & Neck Jun 17, 2021
Low CM, Balakrishnan K, Smith BM, et al. - Researchers conducted this population-based analysis to obtain a comprehensive understanding of health disparities in sinonasal adenocarcinoma (SNAC) with the ultimate goal of helping to identify potential targets for intervention. From 1973 to 2015, the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was searched for SNAC cases. Cases were analyzed to evaluate for disparities in presentation, treatment, and survival. SNAC was found in 630 patients. In a multivariate model of overall survival, an age increase of 10 years, male sex, and a more recent decade of diagnosis were significantly linked to time-to-death. In counties with a higher rural population, the rate of SNAC-related death is higher.
