Hentze M, et al. - Authors assessed the outcome of tracheal resection in patients with tracheal stenosis at their institution and identified risk factors for complications. For the alleviation of dyspnoea in adults with tracheal stenosis tracheal resection was an efficient treatment. Nonetheless, frequent complications were noted and findings suggested careful preoperative patient selection and information to be crucial. Results demonstrated an association of previous treatment (endoscopic and open surgery) and chronic diseases with increased risk for complications.
