Kang BM, et al. - The safety and efficacy of Single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) in uncomplicated appendicitis were evaluated. In uncomplicated appendicitis, compared to multiport laparoscopic surgery (MPLS), SPLS did not increase the rate of perioperative or postoperative complications but may have disadvantages such as increased operation time, later postoperative functional recovery, longer hospital stay, and higher costs. The difference was, however, minimal.
