Single-incision laparoscopic vs conventional laparoscopic right colectomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
International Journal of Surgery | Jun 04, 2018
Dong B, et al. - Researchers performed an updated meta-analysis exploring more convinced comparative findings between single-incision laparoscopic right colectomy (SILRC) and conventional laparoscopic right colectomy (CLRC). They identified 17 studies (including 1,778 cases) searching PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. Outcomes suggested SILRC as a safe and feasible alternative to CLRC with similar short-term outcomes and aesthetic advantage of less skin incision. SILRC demonstrated less estimated blood loss, less skin incisions, and shorter hospital stay.
