Single-acquisition triple-bolus dual-energy CT protocol for comprehensive evaluation of renal masses: A single-center randomized noninferiority trial
American Journal of Roentgenology Jun 04, 2018
Manoharan D, et al. - Authors attempted to compare triple-bolus dual-energy CT (DECT) against standard triple-phase MDCT in terms of appropriateness of patient treatment. For this analysis, 124 patients with suspected renal masses seen at ultrasound were randomized into triple-bolus DECT and triple-phase MDCT groups. Appropriateness of treatment received at 1 year was the primary outcome. The findings from the present study suggested that single-acquisition triple-bolus DECT was noninferior to triple-phase MDCT, with similar diagnostic accuracy, however, delivering significantly less radiation.
