Wong E, et al. - The inconsistencies and lack of consensus in the previous literature regarding the short-term complications and clinical safety of simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty (SBTKR) in patients with end-stage knee osteoarthritis (OA) were addressed by the authors. Findings demonstrated that in contrast to the higher mortality and complication rates suggested in the previous literature, SBTKR was shown to be safe, with low mortality and complication rates under the current surgical protocol.
