Signs and symptoms that distinguish detrusor underactivity from mixed detrusor underactivity and bladder outlet obstruction in male patients

Neurourology and Urodynamics Jan 28, 2018

Gammie A, et al. - This trial was conducted to investigate the signs and symptoms that illustrated variations between men with detrusor underactivity (DU) and those with both DU and bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). The study revealed that it could be possible to identify men with DU in a non-invasive way by combining symptoms, medical history, and signs, that could be measured without the need for invasive urodynamics. This would assist in differentiating men with DU from men with both DU+BOO, with adequate specificity to permit the use of any new non-surgical treatment modalities, such as new and effective medical therapy.
