Muta T, et al. - The survival benefit from salvage Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for relapsed multiple myeloma (MM) were investigated. Salvage ASCT resulted in favorable overall survival except in patients with the following factors: early relapse, poor performance status, moderate/severe renal comorbidity, and progressive disease. Results thereby lent support for encouraging salvage ASCT for eligible patients.
