Short- and mid-term outcomes of robotic vs laparoscopic distal pancreatosplenectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: A retrospective propensity score-matched study
International Journal of Surgery Jun 03, 2018
Qu L, et al. - Researchers designed a comparative study to analyze the short- and mid-term outcomes of robotic distal pancreatosplenectomy (RDPS) vs laparoscopic distal pancreatosplenectomy (LDPS) on patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). In the treatment of PDAC, RDPS was demonstrated to be safe and efficacious. RDPS was also associated with a reduced rate of conversion to open surgery when compared with LDPS. They noted no significant differences between the groups of patients who underwent RDPS or LDPS regarding oncological outcomes and mid-term survival rates.
