Short and medium-term efficacy of sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors: A meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials

Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Jan 19, 2018

Monami M, et al. - This meta-analysis was conducted to establish the durability of the efficacy of sodium glucose co-transport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors on glycemic control and body mass index. With a small but significant superiority over Dipeptidyl-Peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4i), SGLT-2 inhibitors showed a good persistence of efficacy, at least up to 2 years. Sulfonylureas were more effective in the very short term but less effective in the longer term.
