Butt JH, et al. - The short- and long-term mortalities and cause of death in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) were determined. Cardiovascular causes were responsible for the majority of deaths within the first year among patients undergoing CABG. Deaths attributed to non-cardiovascular causes gained importance over time elapsed since CABG.
