SGLT-2 inhibitors and the risk of infections: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Puckrin R, et al. - The effect of sodium–glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors on genitourinary and other infections was determined. A link was demonstrated between SGLT-2 inhibitors with an increased risk of genital tract infections. No correlation existed between SGLT-2 inhibitors and UTIs. Higher doses of dapagliflozin were related to an increased risk of infection.
