Sexual dysfunction is associated with suicidal ideation in female service members and veterans

Blais RK, et al. – Researchers desired to know whether sexual dysfunction was correlated with suicidal ideation when accounting for mental health, demographic, and military characteristics among female service members/veterans (SM/Vs). They observed that female SM/Vs reporting higher sexual dysfunction, especially lower arousal and satisfaction, reported higher suicidal ideation. They suggested that screening for sexual dysfunction in female SM/Vs might help identify those at risk for suicidal ideation.
