Rastrelli G, et al. - Herein, the authors examined if changes in sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) levels, independently of total testosterone (TT), correlated with subjective and objective androgen-dependent parameters. The results shed light on the link between higher SHBG, independently of TT, with either subjective or objective androgen deficiency features. This pointed out that apart from hypogonadism due to an impaired T production, a hypogonadism due to a lower biological activity of T existed.
