Hidayat K, et al. - Researchers conducted a meta-analysis of observational studies to clarify the correlation between sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) levels and the risk of fracture in older adults. As per data, an increased risk of fracture in older adults was predicted by higher SHBG levels. By site of fracture, they noted a positive relationship between the higher SHBG levels with higher risks of hip fracture, vertebral fracture, and non-vertebral fracture.
