Parkinsonism & Related Disorders Feb 26, 2018
Cholerton B, et al. - This study was designed in order to examine if the prediction of cognitive progression was assisted by the analysis of baseline cognitive features in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and whether this varied based on the stage of a cognitive disease. Data demonstrated the presence of sex differences in the progression to cognitive impairment in PD, with males exhibiting a more rapid progress than females. It was also determined that processing speed and working memory correlated with conversion to dementia (PDD) among those with PD-mild cognitive impairment (MCI) at baseline, over and above demographic variables.
