Severity of cerebral palsy and likelihood of adverse events after botulinum toxin A injections
Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology Mar 07, 2018
Swinney CM, et al. - This trial was initiated in order to inspect the incidence of common adverse events after botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) injections in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Researchers also ascertained if the severity of CP exerted an impact on the incidence of adverse events. Findings unveiled that adverse events after BoNT-A injections were common but mostly mild and self-limiting. An increased risk of systemic adverse events was reported among children in Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) levels IV and V. A complex connection was exhibited between CP severity and BoNT-A adverse events.
