Serum vitamin B12 and methylmalonic acid status in migraineurs: A case-control study
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Sep 09, 2019
Togha M, et al. - Researchers compared a group of migraine patients with healthy controls regarding their serum vitamin B12 and methylmalonic acid (MMA) status. This case-control study was comprised of 70 migraine patients and 70 healthy individuals. Migraine patients vs healthy individuals had significantly lower serum levels of B12 and had higher levels of MMA. Taken together, the findings suggest higher odds of migraine among participants with lower vitamin B12 and higher MMA levels that considered as lower functional activity of B12.
