Serum vascular endothelial growth factor-a as a prognostic biomarker for epithelial ovarian cancer

Komatsu H, et al. – The objectives of this study are to investigate the levels of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family and its receptors and to assess their utility as prognostic biomarkers. Serum VEGF–A is an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (OS) in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), implying that serum VEGF–A is a prognostic biomarker for EOC. To validate the data further study is warranted.
