Serum prealbumin is a prognostic indicator in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
The Clinical Respiratory Journal May 23, 2019
Li B, et al. - Researchers assessed the vale of prealbumin (PA) as a prognostic indicator in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). They gathered data on blood biochemistry examination, demographics, and pulmonary function from patients with IPF who visited Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital and China-Japan Friendship Hospital between July 2012 and December 2016. The cases with infection, liver and kidney dysfunction and lung transplantation were excluded from this study. According to the findings, poorer outcome was evident among IPF patients with PA concentration < 0.2 mg/L.
