Serum multiple cytokines for the prediction of spontaneous preterm birth in asymptomatic women: A nested case-control study
Cytokine Mar 07, 2019
Huang L, et al. - In this nested case-control study involving 129 incident spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) cases and 258 individually matched controls who partook in an ongoing birth cohort study, researchers ascertained if the combinations of specific serum cytokines could accurately predict the sPTB risk in asymptomatic women. Using conditional logistic regression and elastic net model, the relationship between the multiple cytokines and sPTB risk was evaluated. According to findings, the combination of selected serum cytokines can predict the risk of sPTB in asymptomatic women more effectively compared to single cytokine use. The top-performing serum cytokines combination formed in women with overweight.
