Lipids in Health and Disease Mar 10, 2018
Arain SQ, et al. - This study was formulated in order to examine the occurrence of metabolic derangement in individuals suffering from hepatitis B. A rise was reported in the serum saturated fatty acid (SFA) and monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) while polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) was reduced in both total and free form in hepatitis B patients. This was attributed to altered activities of enzyme desaturases with impaired PUFA metabolism and non-enzymatic oxidation.
