Serum levels of psoriasin (S100A7) and koebnerisin (S100A15) as potential markers of atherosclerosis in patients with psoriasis
Clinical and Experimental Dermatology Apr 26, 2018
Awad SM, et al. - Authors assessed the role of serum psoriasin and koebnerisin as possible markers for subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with psoriasis. Using the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), clinical severity of psoriasis was estimated. They found a correlation of serum psoriasin and koebnerisin with intima-media thickness (IMT), underlining their value as a potential link between psoriasis and atherosclerosis. In patients with psoriasis, particularly, koebnerisin seemed to be a useful marker of subclinical atherosclerosis.
