Serum level of endostatin and digital ulcers in systemic sclerosis patients
International Wound Journal Apr 08, 2018
Gigante A, et al. - Experts assessed the role of endostatin in scleroderma digital ulcers (DUs) in systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients. Findings suggested that with the progression of capillaroscopic damage, the serum levels of endostatin significantly increased. Notably higher serum levels of endostatin were seen in SSc patients with new DUs than in SSc patients without new DUs. Good accuracy of new DU prediction for the serum level of endostatin was demonstrated by the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves. In SSc patients with infected DUs, the serum levels of endostatin were significantly higher than in SSc patients without infected DUs.
