Serum ghrelin is associated with risk of colorectal adenocarcinomas in the ATBC study

Murphy G, et al. – The authors performed this study to investigate whether serum ghrelin was correlated with risk of colorectal adenocarcinomas. They concluded that low–serum ghrelin was correlated with an elevated colorectal cancer risk within 10 years of blood drawn with a reduced risk for developing colorectal cancer more than 20 years after blood drawn. The outcomes proposed that ghrelin concentrations could vary across the carcinogenic process.
