Serum-based soluble markers differentiate psoriatic arthritis from osteoarthritis
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Mar 29, 2019
Chandran V, et al. - Serum samples from 201 patients with OA, 77 patients with PsA and 76 controls were studied to determine the soluble biomarkers differentiating psoriatic arthritis (PsA) from osteoarthritis (OA). They observed significantly different levels of the markers across the 3 groups — cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP), hyaluronan, resistin, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), insulin, leptin, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), nerve growth factor (NGF). They found an independent association of COMP, resistin, MCP-1, and NGF with PsA vs OA in multivariate analysis.
