Serum androgens and PSA levels in androgenetic alopecia - Is there a difference between frontal and vertex baldness?

Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Dec 20, 2017

Lis-Swiety A, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the potential pathophysiological variations between frontal and vertex balding that could exert an impact on the incidence of prostate cancer (PCa). Based on the results, it was deduced that vertex baldness could signal higher exposures to circulating dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It was also noted that serum PSA level could not serve as a surrogate diagnostic marker of increased androgenic activity in men with androgenetic alopecia (AGA).
