Serum aminotransferase flares in pregnant and postpartum women with current or prior treatment for chronic hepatitis B
Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology Feb 21, 2018
Chang CY, et al. - During this study, authors resolved to elucidate the flares in alanine aminotransferase (ALT) during pregnancy and postpartum in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) women with current and/or prior treatment. ALT flares appeared to be a common occurrence during pregnancy and postpartum in previously treated women with CHB, especially if antiviral therapy was discontinued shortly before pregnancy, during first trimester, or at delivery. Hence, close monitoring was recommended for these pregnant women throughout pregnancy and the early postpartum period.
