Serum AMH levels and insulin resistance in women with PCOS
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Mar 28, 2018
Sahmay S, et al. - The authors performed a comparison of the serum AMH levels between women with and without insulin resistance (IR) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The serum AMH levels were not significantly different between the two women groups. Also, no correlation between serum AMH levels and IR was identified in women with PCOS. No correlation of IR with different PCOS phenotypes was identified either. A positive correlation was recognized between BMI and IR. In women with PCOS having a BMI ≥ 25, IR should be investigated irrespective of their phenotype or AMH levels.
