Serum ALT elevations in survivors of childhood cancer. A report from the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort Study
Hepatology Aug 03, 2018
Green DM, et al. - Among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCS), researchers determined the prevalence of and risk factors for elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level via analyzing data of 2,751 CCS from the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort Study. They used modified Poisson regression models to estimate relative risks and 95% confidence intervals for the relationship between demographic and clinical factors and grades 1 - 4 ALT on the selected models. The findings demonstrated that grade 3 or 4 hepatic injury was infrequent in CCS and mild hepatic injury in this group might be responsive to lifestyle modifications.
