Clinical Rheumatology Sep 15, 2018
Mok CC, et al. - Researchers investigated whether there was an association between baseline serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) activity/flares by analyzing data from 276 patients who fulfilled ≥ 4 ACR criteria for SLE, recruited in 2011. The results from this longitudinal study indicate that vitamin D deficiency was frequently seen in Chinese SLE patients and was related to more active disease at baseline and over time and a tendency for lupus flares which are more severe.
