Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels throughout pregnancy: A longitudinal study in healthy and preeclamptic pregnant women
Endocrine Connections Apr 21, 2018
Agudelo-Zapata Y, et al. - In this nested, case-control study, authors attempted to compare the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) levels and other biomarkers throughout pregnancy in a group of preeclamptic women and healthy pregnant women. With regard to 25OHD levels, no prominent variations were reported between healthy and preeclamptic pregnant women throughout the pregnancy. Findings disclosed higher serum 25OHD levels in non-pregnant women during luteal phase compared with follicular phase. The 25OHD levels of non-pregnant women exhibited a likelihood of being higher than those of pregnant women.
