Churchill S, et al. - The clinicians aimed to examine whether a self-affirmation manipulation could similarly increase self-control over snacking for individuals low in eating self-efficacy. The outcomes established that among individuals low in eating self-efficacy, a self-affirmation manipulation would boost self-control over snacking. Therefore, self-affirmation could provide a useful technique for strengthening self-control regarding the avoidance of unhealthy foods among individuals who find it difficult to manage challenging dietary situations.
