Seizure outcome and its predictors after frontal lobe epilepsy surgery
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica Jun 18, 2019
Samuel JP, et al. - Through a cohort study of 73 consecutive patients who underwent frontal lobe epilepsy surgery (FLE, the second most common focal resective surgery for drug-resistant epilepsy), the researchers intended to study the longitudinal outcome and predictors of seizure outcome following FLE surgery of the patients. Duration of epilepsy of less than 2 years before surgery was observed as a significant predictor for achievement of freedom from the seizure emphasizing early surgery for better outcome in frontal lobe epilepsy. For long-term outcome, post-operative EEG remained a good predictor.
