Secondhand smoke exposure, diabetes, and high BMI are risk factors for uterine cervical cancer: A cross-sectional study from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2010–2018)

Kim JY, Lee DW, Kim MJ, et al. - Cervical cancer risk in Korean women is increased by factors such as passive exposure to cigarette smoke at home, diabetes, and high body mass index.

  • A total of 29,557 women were included, of which cervical cancer was diagnosed in 262 (0.89%).

  • The Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2010–2018) was used.

  • No significant link was found between weekly work hours, work schedule and cervical cancer incidence.
