Screening of hyperlipidemia among patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the United States
Arthritis Care & Research Mar 21, 2019
Navarro-Millan I, et al. - Researchers assessed the screening of hyperlipidemia among subjects with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in the US. Researchers observed the proportion screened for hyperlipidemia was 37%, 60%, 55%, and 41%, among subjects with RA, diabetes mellitus (DM), RA and DM, and neither condition, respectively. A 55% higher screening probability was reported among subjects with RA who visited a rheumatologist and a non-rheumatology clinician during follow-up vs those who only visited a rheumatologist, indicating that primary lipid screening less than optimal among RA cases, even lower than in DM patients.
