Screening investigations in small-for-gestational-age near-term and term infants
European Journal of Pediatrics Oct 15, 2017
Krishnamurthy MB, et al. - This research ascertained how frequently the assessment was carried out for near-term and term small-for-gestational-age (SGA) infants. It also determined if being born less than the third centile for weight raised the yield of positive investigations and whether additional characteristics existed in infants with positive investigations. A poor yield was discovered on neonatal screening investigations, among the SGA babies without additional maternal or neonatal characteristics. The additional characteristics could be taken into account while deciding whether the SGA infant required screening investigation.
