Screening for gastric cancer with magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy in asymptomatic individuals

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy May 17, 2018

Zhao AJ, et al. - In this observational cohort study, the researchers evaluated the application of magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy (MCCG) in gastric cancer (GC) detection in an asymptomatic population. From April to December 2016, three thousand, one hundred eighty-two asymptomatic individuals undergoing MCCG in 99 participating medical examination centers were registered. Findings revealed that no gender disparity was seen and all were aged over 50 years. Results of this study suggested that MCCG could detect cancer and benign lesions and was safe and clinically feasible in a large population.
