Scleral fixation of a toric lens to treat corneal astigmatism in eyes without capsular support
Clinical Ophthalmology Jun 06, 2021
Ward MS, Hou AC, Murphy DA, et al. - In this retrospective, noncomparative, and non-consecutive case series, researchers described surgical technique and reported short-term visual outcomes after suture-fixation of a single-piece eyelet-toric (SET) intraocular lens (IOL) for treatment of concurrent aphakia and astigmatism. SET technique reduced refractive cylinder and improved both uncorrected and corrected distance visual acuity. Surgeons can adapt SET by using readily available IOL and familiar scleral-fixation maneuvers.
