Elshazly O, et al. - Researchers compared the scarf osteotomy and long chevron osteotomy regarding operative time, the power of correction and complications, in the treatment of hallux valgus deformity. Similar clinical outcomes and almost identical corrective power of the intermetatarsal angle were noted to be possessed by both osteotomies. Slightly shorter operative time and subjective technical simplicity were reported for long chevron osteotomy.
