They used data from the Veterans Affairs Clinical Assessment Reporting and Tracking Program linked with Health Economics Resource Center data. Increased adoption of SDD for elective PCI procedures in VAHS was reported. SDD adoption in VAHS was found to be related to cost savings without a rise in readmission or mortality. Costs may potentially be attenuated, without increasing adverse outcomes, with greater adoption of SDD.
