Salvage robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy: Oncologic and functional outcomes from two high-volume institutions
World Journal of Urology Jul 18, 2018
Ogaya-Pinies G, et al. - Authors evaluated the perioperative, oncologic and functional outcomes of prostate cancer patients undergoing salvage robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (sRARP) after primary treatment failure. For prostate cancer (PCa) recurrence, sRARP was a feasible alternative. Findings suggested the procedure be performed by experienced PCa surgeons, as it is technically challenging. It was uncommon to have major complications. There was a possibility of continence and potency recovery, but at lower rates than non-salvage patients.
