Tai CH, et al. - Experts pursued an investigation of the safety profile of daptomycin in individuals with severe renal impairment. A substantially higher incidence of creatine kinase (CK) elevation could be achieved through high-dose (≥9 mg/kg) daptomycin therapy in patients with severe renal impairment. Data recommended more frequent CK monitoring for avoiding potential harm in this cohort.
