Djahangirian O, et al. - Researchers ascertained the safe parameters with which patients with isolated antenatal hydronephrosis could be discharged early and avoid unnecessary follow-up with the related parental anxiety. They conducted a retrospective review of all patients referred to a single children’s referral hospital centre for hydronephrosis between 2010 and 2012. As per the data, the followup was merited by an initial postnatal anterior-posterior diameter (APD) of 10 mm or greater, with a SFU grade 3-4. Nonetheless, experts suggested a safe discharge of all patients with an APD of less than 10 mm, especially when with a SFU grade 1-2 as they were unlikely to experience complications.
