Sacubitril/valsartan reduces serum uric acid concentration, an independent predictor of adverse outcomes in PARADIGM-HF
European Journal of Heart Failure Dec 06, 2017
Mogensen UM, et al. - The link between serum uric acid concentration (SUA) and outcomes as well as the impact of sacubitril/valsartan on SUA in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) were assessed in PARADIGM-HF. After multivariable adjustment in patients with HFrEF, it was observed that SUA served as an independent predictor of worse outcomes. Notably, sacubitril/valsartan vs enalapril led to attenuated SUA and improved outcomes irrespective of SUA.
