European Journal of Pediatrics Nov 15, 2017

Tume LN, et al. - A comparative exploration was carried out of the routine gastric residual volume (GRV) measurement and energy target achievement in children admitted to the European Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs). Nonetheless, not estimating the GRV did not increase vomiting, ventilator-acquired pneumonia or necrotising enterocolitis. This presented as the primary reason clinicians cited for measuring GRV.
