Rosuvastatin use improves measures of coagulation in patients with venous thrombosis

European Heart Journal Feb 05, 2018

Biedermann JS, et al. - Observational studies indicate that statins reduce the risk of recurrent venous thrombosis (VT). Whether statin therapy improves the coagulation profile in patients with prior VT, was investigated herein. Treatment of patients with prior VT with rosuvastatin 20 mg/day led to substantial improvement in the coagulation profile, suggesting that statin therapy might be beneficial in patients at risk of recurrent VT.
