Role of ultrasound guided epidural anesthesia for lower limb surgery in children with previously repaired meningomyelocele
Paediatric Anaesthesia Jan 10, 2018
Ponde VC, et al. - Researchers sought to assess the potential role of ultrasound in delineating the most appropriate intervertebral space for central neuroaxial blocks in children with previously repaired meningomyelocele presenting for lower limb surgery. They found that with the use of ultrasound for guidance, normal intervertebral space could be detected and the abnormal space was also explicitly shown. This study validated the use of ultrasound as an aid to distinguish normal from abnormal space in post-meningomyelocele repair.
