Role of the histone deacetylase inhibitor valproic acid in high-fat diet-induced hypertension via inhibition of Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 1/angiotensin II axis

International Journal of Obesity Aug 29, 2017

Choi1 J, et al. – Researchers tried to find out the mechanism of valproic acid–induced prevention of hypertension. It was considered that valproic acid (VPA) prevented high–fat diet (HFD)–induced hypertension by downregulating angiotensin II and its receptor via inhibition of Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 1, offering a novel therapeutic option for HFD–induced hypertension.
