van der List JP, et al. – This study examined the role of tear location on open primary repair outcomes of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the historical literature. A possible prognostic role of tear location was highlighted in findings. Open primary repair yielded excellent outcomes in patients with proximal tears. This finding corroborated that there may be a potential role for primary repair as treatment for proximal ACL tears.
